Shane,

I wanted to provide you with a client review on my experience with Butter and Queso and their board and train experience.

My husband and I never had children but instead have always had fur babies.  When we adopted our first fur babies, we were newly married and in our twenties with more energy and less demanding jobs.  After those fur babies crossed the rainbow bridge we knew we needed to adopt new fur babies into our lives.  Now in our forties with demanding jobs and much less energy, we didn’t realize (or we forgot) how much attention and training puppies would require. But we welcomed two miniature poodle sisters into our home and quickly realized the puppies were training us rather than us training them.  I knew I needed help with them, but I didn’t have time to devote to evening or weekend training sessions.  We knew that the board and train program would be the best solution for our family.  We love our puppies like they are our children and the thought of them leaving our house to live with a stranger made me nervous and slightly uncomfortable, but I took the leap and decided to reach out for the help we all needed. 

After doing our researching and identifying with Shane’s story, I knew he would be the perfect fit for our family. I was promptly contacted by Shane after reaching out to him and we scheduled a virtual conference to discuss my needs and my concerns.  Shane gave me some quick tips to help me immediately and we scheduled the board and train session. 

In between my initial contact with Shane and the puppies board and train reservation, Shane and I spoke virtually via Zoom where Shane provided me with additional support and context for the puppies upcoming board and train.  His information was immediately helpful and provided me with valuable skills to work with my puppies as we prepared for their time with Shane.  When the time came to meet Shane and drop off my puppies I was nervous leaving my fur babies with someone who was, in essence, a stranger.  But Shane reassured me, spoke with me about the training plan, promised to stay in touch daily with text messages, pictures and videos. 

But what really reassured me that day was how quickly my puppies took to Shane.  If they say that dogs are a good judge of character, I could safely say that my puppies immediately felt comfortable with Shane and even wanted to play with him.  I drove away, still unsure, but comfortable with leaving them in his care.  Within hours I received a text message from Shane and pictures of my puppies.  This would be the first of many texts and videos over the course of the next three weeks.  I saw how happy my puppies were with Shane and how much they were learning.  In the three weeks they spent with Shane, they learned potty training, sit, place (stay), and how to come when recalled. They learned how to interact with other people and other dogs and grew confident and brave.  I could see, through his videos, how much my puppies were growing and maturing and I was eager to welcome them home. 

When they day came for my puppies to come home, Shane met me at my home and delivered the puppies.  Shane spent 90 minutes training me and my husband on how to interact with our puppies and how to ensure that their newly learned behaviors would stay intact now that they were home with us.  Shane checked up with me routinely to see if I was having any challenges and offer me advice and guidance. 

Fast forward three years and my puppies are now grown. I recognized some sisterly aggression forming between my poodles and quickly reached out to Shane for his guidance on how to mitigate this behavior. One phone call with Shane reassured me and provided me with the information I needed to correct the poodles’ behavior as well as my own to ensure that I wasn’t contributing to the situation. The lifetime support was there immediately upon me reaching out.

Partnering with Shane was the best decision I could have made for my husband, myself and my puppies.  Shane was a kind, patient and incredible partner for our journey.  Entrusting him with my fur babies was the best decision I could have made.  Now we have playful poodles who follow our commands and are well integrated into our home and our routines.
