Hello! Welcome and thank you for visiting our page. I’m Shane the founder of Wags and Wisdom Dog Training. This dream was born from a passion to continue offering top tier training services to the local Gettysburg community and beyond! My love of dogs started from training our family pets as a child, to continuing to learn with my own dogs as an adult. Learning just the basics was never enough, I always strove for more! I not only wanted a well behaved dog, I wanted to impress people too! I have been an avid competitor in the sport of Schutzhund with my own German Shepherds which has greatly increased my knowledge of reliable obedience. It hasn’t always been easy, I have worked through my own challenges of behavior modification such as aggression and reactivity. I know exactly what it’s like to be the frustrated pet parent just wanting to take their dog on a walk… so my journey began. I spent years learning under experts and traveling all across the country to seminars and events to learn from the best. Slowly building up my knowledge to offer to those around me. I have been privileged to work with the Gettysburg community since 2020 with another company. Now with a heart full of passion for dog training, I am spreading my wings to continue to work with those around me here under Wags and Wisdom. My approach combines positive reinforcement along with balanced training, creating a dog who is eager to learn but understands boundaries and rules. I understand each dog's unique personality and tailor my methods accordingly, making sure every tail wag is a victory. My goal is not only that your dog becomes better behaved but that you and your pup walk away with a deeper understanding of one another.
